Relationship, I believe, is at the core of why we were created. And I'm thankful that God continues to nudge us toward deeper relationships, with Him and with fellow Christ followers.

Thank you, Candice, for these lovely and heart-felt words! When drowning in loneliness, I find even the smallest gesture of reaching out to another, when done with great love (wink to Mother Teresa), is a gesture of trust toward Jesus, trusting in the promise “With you always.” In the spirit of what you said—"… the encouragement of others as we learn to give our burdens and hurt to Jesus is invaluable”— I find that when learning to surrender my burden of loneliness and leaning into Jesus’s promise, I find strength to offer encouragement to another and in return find myself encouraged.

I have struggled with social anxiety and I was just talking to one of my close friends yesterday about how I felt alone. I am never one to talk a lot but she helped me to open up. She helped bring me closer to Christ and I am forever thankful for that. I love how God connects stories like this. Thank you for writing.

I understand how you feel. It’s easy to isolate ourselves, but we need Christian encouragement. I’m so glad you had that talk with your friend! And yes, I see God’s reminders of things everywhere. They happen when we need it the most. 💜
